You can generate a smart list from the trip type, the climate you expect, the trip length, rain, and whether laundry is available — Packlane scales quantities to the trip and gates items by climate. You can also start from a built-in or saved template, or from a completely blank list.
Yes. Create bags — carry-on, checked, or a backpack — and assign any item to one in a couple of taps, including bulk-assigning a whole category at once. You can filter the packing list down to a single bag, and note each bag's weight as a personal reference; Packlane stores that number as-is and doesn't compare it to any airline allowance. Your first bag is free and additional bags are part of Premium. It all works offline, with no account.
Yes. Packlane is offline-first: creating lists, checking bags, and packing all work with no signal. An optional live-weather layer can add a forecast and rain suggestions when you're online, but it's not required and falls back to the offline climate model automatically.
Yes. When you create a trip, set how many kids you're travelling with in each age band — baby, toddler, child, and teen — and Packlane adds age-appropriate items with quantities computed per child and per day. Those items generate for free and stay visible like the rest of the list; they're organized by category and bag rather than per named traveler.
Blank and manual lists are free forever, with nothing locked. Smart and template lists generate for free and stay fully visible: your Documents category — passport, wallet, tickets, keys, money — is fully usable without paying, and the rest of the generated list is a preview that Premium unlocks. So the paywall appears once the list has already proven itself, not before you've seen it. Premium is available as a subscription or a one-time purchase. Your items are never hidden, unchecking always works, and PDF export and JSON backup are free on every plan.
